* South Africa lost the Ist ODI of this series of 5 matches against Pakistan by 5 wickets.
* Hashim Amla played a brilliant innings of 108 runs while Rassie Van Der Dussen registered his first half century in his debut match.
* D. Olivier picked up two wickets in the Ist ODI match for South Africa.

* Imam-ul-Haq played a brilliant innings of 86 runs while Mohammad Hafeez played a finishing innings of 71 runs and secure a victory for Pakistan. Babar Azam scored 49 runs.
* Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan picked up One wicket each.
* Pakistan will be delighted with their victory in the Ist ODI at Port Elizabeth. All of Imam-ul-Haque, Babar Azam and Veteran Mohammad Hafeez came good with bat and they will hope for more if the same in the Second ODI at Durban.
* Pakistan's bowlers would have been happy to keep South Africa to a low score in the Ist ODI, but will hope for more end-product in the upcoming matches.
* They used 7 bowlers in the Ist ODI but could pick up just 02 wickets. Their bowling will depend on Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan who were the wicket-takers of Ist ODI.
